At the August 2004 annual meeting, a lake owner asked about installing a storm warning system on Connor’s Point. In response, Board member Bruce Klugherz gave a presentation outlining how such a system could work. The idea was well received.

A cost estimate of $18,000 was obtained for a 50‑foot tower, and in early 2005 the residents of Connor’s Point approved installing the tower on Shamrock Drive.

The system was installed on November 1, 2005 by R.T. Electric. At that time, the Lake Association was responsible for all aspects of the warning system, including insurance, maintenance, electricity, and monthly monitoring. Activation was handled by the National Weather Service office in Mankato.

In January 2019, Le Sueur County agreed to take over maintenance of the tower and activation during severe weather. The Lake Association continues to handle insurance, electricity, and monthly monitoring.
